All treatments offered by our clinic are focused on treatment of the hands using non-invasive techniques. These techniques include ultrasound or local anaesthetic. The benefit of these techniques for patients include almost instant recovery times and painless treatment. Meaning minimum interruption to the patients everyday lives and avoiding lengthy time off work for recuperation.

Carpal tunnel release
Ultrasound is used to non-surgically identify the source of the pressure being applied to your median nerve and a route for specialised needles to be inserted under local anaesthetic. Allowing the ligament applying the pressure to be cut without the need for the palm or wrist to be opened. This minimally invasive technique means that the recovery period from the surgery is less than 24 hours and involves no permanent scarring.

Trigger finger
To release the tendon that is getting caught, widening the tendon sheath is required. To do this, traditional surgery would open the finger to expose the tendon sheath. With Dr Apard’s technique, using ultrasound, a needle is used to reach the tendon sheath. This results in a quicker recovery time and no need for stitches.

Dupuytren Contracture

Using the aponeurotomy technique, a needle is used to release the contracted skin tissue causing the finger(s) to curl. It’s a minimum invasive procedure involving local anaesthetic and lasting 10-30 minutes; no stitches, no anaesthesiologists required. For those under 60, the bandage can be removed 24h later and you can return to regular activity.

Rhizarthrosis

(Osteoarthritis of the thumb)
Ultrasound is used to non-surgically identify the source of the pressure being applied to your joint and a route for specialised needles to be inserted for injections. The best procedure is the combination of local anesthetic without tourniquet and the implantation of a total prosthesis.
